About

Rona Hart School of Dance has provided the highest quality classes in ballet, tap and street dance for children age 2.5 – 18 years and adults for over 75 years.

Discreetly tucked away in the grounds of the beautiful Rosslyn Hill Chapel, the school was founded in 1946 by Miss Rona Hart, who taught in the premises until her retirement in 1998. Her well known devotion to dance has been an inspiration and encouragement to many thousands of pupils. After training at the Royal Ballet School, Miss Linzi joined the school in 1994 and was immediately drawn, like so many others, to the warm and friendly atmosphere. She became Principal in 1996 and continues to foster the same inclusive, welcoming ethos to this day.

The school is the longest running in Hampstead and it’s reputation is second to none. Providing classes for all ages and all levels, the combination of a longstanding reputation and constantly evolving approaches to teaching place Rona Hart in a league of it’s own.

We believe we have been Hampstead’s choice of dance school for so long because ultimately our children are so happy. At Rona Hart we know that all children are different so we provide a range of styles to cater for all personalities. Our classes are structured and yet imaginative and our teachers disciplined and yet fun. We pride ourselves on our great parent feedback that our school is a nurturing, stimulating and inspiring place to be. Many pupils enter as ‘ baby ballerinas’ and never want to leave.

Over the years the Rona Hart School has produced numerous arts professionals including actress Helen Bonham-Carter, TV presenter Jameela Jamil and renowned choreographer David Dawson, along with many more dancers and theatre performers.

Our aim is to introduce and nurture the joy of dance and movement for all, whether seeking a career in dance or purely for recreational purposes. We strive to extend every child’s own ability, help them build confidence and most importantly, have fun!
